Choices Related To Payment

We believe in the recognition and meaningful celebration of a life that has been lived and will assist in creating an appropriate service to meet your needs. What is also important is that the arrangements be in keeping with your wishes and budget. For your convenience, we request payment for services as follows: Third Party Items - Payment for the cemetery, crematory, clergy, church, organist or other third party items is required in the form of a check or cash before the funeral service because each of these requires payment when their service is provided.

Funeral Home Account - We are a family owned business that treats every family we serve as fairly and equally as we can. In an effort to provide the finest services and merchandise possible, we are dependent upon our clients for determining payment terms prior to services. Your payment options are:

  • Cash Transaction - Payment may be made in cash, personal check, bank check, money order, or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express.
  • Insurance Policy Assignment - As long as we have verified that the policy can be assigned to the funeral home for direct payment to us by the insurance company for all amounts owed.
  • Funded Preneed Funeral Arrangement - As long as we have verified that the funds are or can be assigned to the funeral home for direct payment for all amounts owed. Please be aware that even though a funeral has been pre-financed there could be additional monies owed for non-guaranteed items such as flowers, death notices, death certificates, etc.

Where the deceased’s estate must stand the burden of paying the funeral expenses, we ask that family representatives pay the funeral expenses by the date of service and file a claim for reimbursement with the deceased‘s estate. Howe-Peterson cannot enter into a contract with a deceased’s estate.

Where total payment has not been received by the day of service, a late payment penalty will be charged in the amount of $395.00 on the unpaid balance. If payment is not met in a timely manner and legal fees must be applied for collection, the family representative(s) are responsible for these fees.

Financial responsibility must be mutually agreed upon by at least one family representative and Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.
