Alan
Fisher
June 7, 1932 – May 2, 2022
Alan 'Al' Fisher passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 89.
Al was the loving brother in law of Judy Fisher, uncle to Claire English (husband Doug) and Alan Fisher (wife Susan.) He is also
survived by his great niece Rachel English, great nephew Blake English, great niece Addie
Fisher, and great-great niece Mary Claire Walter.
Al Robert Fisher was born June 7, 1932 in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Raised by accomplished musician parents, Irwin and Marion Fischer. Al studied piano for ten years before discovering his love of the string bass. For years he played with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, and
performed solo concerts across the midwest and eastern United States, including a memorable solo recital at Carnegie Hall in 1973.
Al had a highly scientific mind. After graduating from Northwestern University with an automotive engineering degree, Al served two years in the Armed Forces. Al worked for Ford Motor Company for many years and resided in Dearborn Michigan for most of his adult life.
He created over 90 patents and had an extensive model car collection. To date, he has collected, cultivated and cataloged about 2500 model cars.
Al had a distinct passion for family and all things nostalgic. He devoted countless hours to archiving volumes of his ancestry so that the family history could be preserved for future family members.
He will be missed by his many neighbors, friends and family that knew and loved
him.
