Obituary

OMILIAN, ALBIN of Dearborn Heights passed away on August 22, 2018 at the age of 98. Albin began working for Ford Motor Company in 1939 and retired from the Livonia Transmission Plant. He is an Army veteran of World War II, who was a POW in Germany for two years. He earned several medals, including the Purple Heart. During his Army career he was a heavy machine gunner of the 820th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He loved music, dancing, yardwork and cooking. Albin is survived by his daughter, Linda (Ron) Omilian-Kondakor, and step-children, Betty Wellman and Larry (JoAnn) Wellman. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 11:00AM at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave.

Burial of cremated remains will take place prior to the service on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 12:30PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI (4200 Belford Rd).
