Amanda Leigh Geesey

May 9, 1994 — Jul 6, 2026

Amanda Leigh Geesey, age 32, of Taylor, passed away on July 6, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1994, in Dearborn, Michigan.

Amanda was a devoted mother, loving daughter, cherished sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and loyal friend. Above all else, she treasured her daughter, Evelyn, who was the light of her life and greatest source of pride and joy.

Amanda is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Janet Thornsberry, and maternal great-grandfather, Arnold Rife, and is survived by her beloved daughter, Evelyn, mother and stepfather, Kasey and Dean Cook, father, Richard Fuchs, brother, Avery, sister, Arden, maternal grandparents, Danny and Sharol Thornsberry, paternal grandparents, Dennis and Maureen Fuchs, and her great-grandmother, Clara Rife. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish her memory.

Amanda dedicated her life to saving and caring for people and worked in the emergency department as a Registered Nurse. She was highly regarded by all those that she worked with as they were witness to her true dedication and compassion for her job. She was planning on returning to school in the fall as her goal was to become to a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Amanda was always candid about her life, shared her struggles openly, and ignored those who passed judgement. She always said that if her openness helped just one person, it was worth it. No one fought harder than Amanda to be healthy, to be well, to be exactly who she wanted to be, knew she could be, and was meant to be.

When Amanda was doing well in mind and body, she was the biggest light. She had the largest and brightest personality of anyone around. She was loud and unapologetic for who she was. She had a fierce sense of right and wrong, and believed doing the right thing would always come back to her. Amanda was always looking for someone to save, someone struggling more than herself. She would try and lift them up, even if it caused her to fall further down.

Though we may never know exactly why her life ended, we know that her mind and body were tired from years of struggling. Our hearts are completely broken, but we take comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace and no longer suffering.

Forever loved, forever missed, but most importantly, forever living in our hearts.
