Amelia "Mickie"
Marchand
October 19, 1929 – December 17, 2025
Amelia Louise Marchand, lovingly known as Mickie, Mom, and Mimier, age 96, who lived in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Taylor, Michigan.
To those who knew her best, she wasn't just Amelia—she was Mickie, the one with the quick humor and warm smile; Mom, the steady presence who always put her children first; and Mimier, the grandma whose love filled every room she entered. Her life was centered around family, laughter, and making others feel at home.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard "Dick" Marchand, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership.
Mickie was a devoted mother to Shellie Marchand, Colette Marchand, and Ric Marchand. She took immense pride in her family, including her grandchildren: Kim Sylvester (and husband Chad), Melissa Gajewski, Pete Marchand, Ricky Marchand, Joey Marchand (and wife Tiffany), and those who passed before her—Sean Varney, Chris Varney, and Nick Marchand. She was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy.
Mickie was well known for her homemade desserts, which were a highlight of family gatherings and holidays, and for her legendary poker nights, where laughter, teasing, and good-natured competition were always part of the fun. Her sense of humor was one of her most cherished traits—she loved to laugh and made it easy for others to laugh with her.
Raised Catholic, Mickie lived her life guided by love, family, and kindness, carrying her faith in her own way.
Those who loved her will forever remember her warmth, her wit, and her favorite saying—"Love you more than mostest."
Amelia "Mickie" Marchand will be remembered always for the love she gave so freely, the laughter she shared, and the family she cherished above all else. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
