Obituary

Ann Pittman Kucyk, age 92, died on March 13, 2014 at home in Southgate, Michigan, surrounded by her children. She was born and raised in Kenly, N.C., the daughter of Elmer and Elsie Pittman. On September 2, 1943 she married William Kucyk. He preceded her in death in 1977. Ann is survived by her daughters Kay Kasic, Jackie Servis, Cecelia (Richard) Montoye and her son William (Jacque) Kucyk, Jr. She dearly loved her grandchildren Pam (John) Vincent, Brian (Sheri) Montoye, Cindi Servis, Robbie Servis, Bradley (Karen) Kucyk, Sarah (Ryan) Walker, Mary (Jeff) Hanson, and Sarah Langs. Ann felt so fortunate to have 10 great-grandchildren; Laura and Val Hunt, Myranda, April, and Richard Montoye, Troy and Ava Hudson, Madelyn Grace (Servis) Van Putten, Kayne Langs, Henry Walker, and Chani and Sadie Vincent. Ann was one of 11 children born and raised in Kenly. She is survived by 3 sisters in North Carolina; Dorothy Barnes, Ida Cox, and Marjorie Cooper and 3 brothers in South Carolina; Andy (Pat) Pittman, Jimmy (Janice) Pittman, and Wayne Pittman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carlton Pittman and Harold Pittman and 2 sisters Jessie Sisk and infant sister Becky Pittman, and nephew Jimmy Sisk. Ann lived a life based on a love of family and strong religious faith. She was a life-long Baptist and at the time of her death was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. Ann's favorite past times were attending church, family gatherings, and following University of North Carolina basketball. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17th at 11:30 AM until time of service 1:00 PM at the Taylor Chapel of Howe Peterson Funeral Home in Taylor, MI. In lieu of flowers, Ann asks that you spend time with family or in church, make a donation or volunteer your time to a hospice center or help someone in need. Ann's strong faith continued throughout her life and she concluded her instructions with a short sentence, "I'll see you in heaven."
