Anna Dean Franco
(February 19, 1930 - April 16, 2020)
Entered into rest on April 16, 2020 at age 90. Anna was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Despite relocating to Dearborn, Michigan many years ago, she remained a true Southern lady with the accent to prove it. She is survived by three loving brothers (Ramsey Jr, Roy and Richard); her only sister (Dorothy) preceding her in death. She is survived by five children who think the world of her: Timothy, Benjamin (Samara), Vivian Krokos (Richard), William (Kathy) and Doyle (April). She adored her twelve grandchildren and great grandchild. She was fortunate to find true love twice; married to John K. Dean, Jr. for 42 years, who passed in 1995. And for 12 years to George Franco until his death in 2012.
Through determination and hard work, Anna put herself through business school despite many obstacles. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for many years, and managed her own beauty products business. But her true passion was her family and church. Even into her 80's, she was very active in her church as usher, speaker and board member. Anna devoted much energy to various volunteer opportunities, including her church's foodbank.
Anna began writing her memoirs during her later years, entertaining, informing and inspiring many people. Some of these memoirs were published and she was very glad to share her life experiences with the world. She was bright, energetic and humorous.
Anna kept a piece of paper on her refrigerator with the phrase "Others before self". This is how she lived her life. Putting the needs of others before her own. She is in a better place now, but her loss is deeply felt amongst friends and family members alike. A memorial service will be held at First Assembly of God, Dearborn Heights, at a future date.
