Obituary

Antonio Foggia

April 4, 1939 - September 2, 2023

Tony was born in Supino Frosinone Italy on April 4th 1939 to Giacinto Foggia and Adelia Calvetti.

He fell asleep in death in Pompano Beach, Florida on the afternoon of Saturday, September 2nd 2023.

He leaves behind his wife, Teresa, 3 sons Tony (Sarah), Luciano, and Maurizio (Faith) three grandchildren, Stefano, Michela (Matthew), and Marco. As well as his bonus grandchildren, Anthony and Timothy and their families, his brother Fred, and sisters Josephine, Benita, Gina, Lucy and many caring, extended family members.

Tony immigrated from Italy as a preteen, but he never forgot his Italian roots. His hospitable, hard-working nature made him a good fit for a Restaurateur.

His love of the Sea caused him to search up and down the Florida coast before settling on Pompano Beach as his retirement spot. He enjoyed his seaside retirement staying fit, meeting new people and making friends, which was something that came easy to him. Maurizio can attest to this because whenever he would visit Pompano Beach, his Dad seemed to know everybody and they would often say they could tell he was Tony's son.

Something his friends new well, was Tony's desire to dwell on the positive. In fact, he would often urge others to "Be Happy!"

Speaking of urging others to enjoy life-some things his sons remember about him are that he was definitely a morning person, and very adventurous. Even on a cold winter's day he would say "get out of those pajamas it's snowing- we're going tobogganing!" Or the time he wanted Luciano to enjoy the swimming pool at Zio Ferdinando's house, so he taught him to swim old school- by throwing him in!    Luciano did learn to swim that day, but as you can understand, he prefers to enjoy the water from afar!

Although Tony was not a religious man, his appreciation of nature and his desire to enjoy life are a reflection of what our Creator really wants for us all!

Indeed, it is comforting to know the Bible's promise that an "hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…"

~John 5:28, 29~

Until then, Tony will surely be missed by many!
