Arlene M. Jaynes, widow of loving and devoted husband John, passed away peacefully December 6th, 2024 at the age of 98. She will join him at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. They married in July 1944 and were married 68 years. Preceded in death by their two oldest daughters, Gloria (Joe) Johnson and Kathy (Harold) Cozart; and survived by their other children Dennis (Gayle), Craig (Beverly), Diane (Mike d'd.) Murray, and Scott. They had 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She managed the household and children over the many years, being involved in the Camp Fire Girls, Girl and Boy Scouts, Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies' Auxiliary, sewing, crafting, gardening, canning, cooking, camping, and travel. Later in life she had a variety of part time jobs to keep busy, but really loved working and greeting people at the Greenfield Village for over 20 years. Arlene and John had several small resale operations, along with collecting and being in the Depression Era Glass Club. She always enjoyed being hostess and entertaining her extended family and friends for the holidays and special occasions when she could. Her family and many friends from everywhere were always very important to her, and she will be remembered by many and greatly missed.

Visitation at the Dearborn location of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 15th, 3-8pm. Funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 16th, at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery
