Audrey Ann Chambers

(September 25, 1948 - March 13, 2023)

Audrey Chambers, of Wayne County, passed away at the age of 74 on March 13, 2023. Audrey was born to Anthony and Phyllis Abela of Detroit, MI on September 25, 1948, and was the youngest of six children. She attended Western High School in Detroit where she met the love of her life, Chris Chambers. They were married in 1968 and moved from Detroit to Allen Park, MI. Living in the downriver suburb of Allen Park for more than forty years, they were surrounded by Audrey's siblings and their families.

Audrey loved Motown music and street fairs. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Kimberly, Michael, and Vincent Chambers, and her three grandchildren, Angelica, Antonio, and Elysia.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Anthony, Richard, and Robert Abela. She is survived in death by her loving husband Chris, her beloved children and grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Rose Chambers, her sisters Shirley (Abela) Sikora and Rose (Abela) Caballero, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 2 pm to 8 pm at JL Peters Funeral Home, with a rosary prayer service at 5:30 pm.

Funeral service will begin at 10 am on Saturday, March 18th at JL Peters Funeral Home 3880 Fort St., Lincoln Park.

A burial service will be held in Woodmere Cemetery's new chapel directly following the funeral.
