Barbara Mathis, age 96, passed away April 30, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Tom Burton and Edgar Lee Mathis.
Proud mother of Judith (Joseph C.) Vokally and the late Thomas Burton.
Caring grandmother of Joseph T., David (Tasha), Rachel (Zain), Nicholas (Marlena), and Christopher, and great-grandmother of Drake, Brooks, and little Violet on the way.
The last of several siblings.

Barbara had many facets to her life. She was a dedicated parishioner of Bethany Baptist Church where she was the last of the Church Charter Members. She stayed as active as she could as long as she could. Barbara would often be found in the yard tending her flowers and pulling weeds. She enjoyed music and poetry. She will be missed greatly.

Visitation Thursday, May 4 from 1:30PM until time of funeral service at 5PM. All services located at Bethany Baptist Church, 5350 Merrick St, Dearborn Heights MI 48125.
