Ben A. Craft Sr., age 81, passed away January 29, 2023.

Beloved husband of Carolyn for 57 devoted years.
Proud father of Ben (Cindy) and the late Dwight (Marla) Martin.
Caring grandfather of Felicia, Tyler (Jaime), Chloe, and Carolynn.
Great-grandfather of 3.
Dear brother of Jean, Phyllis, Lester Jr., and the late James, Katherine, Betty, and Maggie.
Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ben was a man who lived a vibrant and multifaceted life. He had many hobbies he dabbled in. An outdoorsman at heart, he took many trips to fish and hunt deer, bringing along family whenever he could. When northern Michigan got too cold, he often found himself going back down south for these expeditions.

Ben boasted a verdurous garden of tomatoes and beans. When he started his garden, he put all of himself into it. The yard started to take shape, less so as a yard, and more so a tomato jungle. After he cultivated over 150 plants his family started to lose count!

Ben also had a love for everything muscle car. Over the years he owned many different, gorgeous vehicles. '65 and '69 Chevys, '66 Nova, '69 CPO Camaro, and a '69 Chevelle were some of the prized jewels he owned. In their younger years, both Carolyn and he would drag race!

Something Ben especially excelled at was being an educator. With all the things he loved to do in his life, he was eager to show others. He passed on his hobbies and knowledge to his family, whether it be fishing, building fires, gardening, or whittling.

Ben was a member of Faith Way Assembly of God for 17 devout years and always looked forward to being with his church community. He was a bright and shining man who will be missed so very greatly.

Visitation will be Friday, February 3 from 4-8PM. Funeral service Saturday, February 4 at 1PM. All services will be located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph, Taylor MI 48180.
