Beloved husband of Michelle. Loving father of the late Kelly Bowman. Cherished grandfather of Skyler and Sage.  Dearest brother of Sharlene Weisenberger and the late Karen Rocker. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Bernie loved spending time fishing and playing a round of golf. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.  He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan.

Visitation will be Monday, December 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Location of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 22546 Michigan Ave. 48124.  Air Force Honors will take place Monday 7:00 p.m. Bernie's Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 800 S. Military St, Dearborn, MI 48124. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Wounded Warrior Project
