Bernice Byrd of Taylor, Michigan went to her heavenly home on December 18, 2022 at the age of 92, after being cared for by her family and dedicated nurses and caregivers. Bernice served the Lord faithfully beside her husband, the late Pastor Wade (Jack) Byrd. Loving mother of Teresa (Marty) Jaime. Cherished grandmother (Meme) of Brandi (Joe) Fanto, Marisa (Mark) Atherton, and Lauren Jaime. Blessed great-grandmother of Bentley and Mila. Precious aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Known for her beautiful singing voice, Bernice was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and her church. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and humble demeanor that won the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and never-ending faith.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, located at 9800 Telegraph Rd, Taylor, MI 48180. Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11am. Burial will be at Michigan Memorial Cemetery.
