Obituary

Betty Green, born August 31, 1930, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026, at the age of 95.

Betty was born a coal miners daughter to Ethel and Fletcher Dodson in Sophia, West Virginia.  Her heritage shaped her strength, resilience, and down-to-earth spirit—qualities she carried with her throughout her life and shared generously with those around her.

Betty was funny, spunky, and wonderfully witty. She had a special laugh—one that could light up a room and linger in your memory long after it ended. People were drawn to her warmth, her sharp sense of humor, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and at ease. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into stories worth telling.

Throughout her long and full life, Betty embraced each day with spirit and determination. She lived with curiosity, kindness, and an appreciation for laughter, which she shared freely with family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Green, husband Herbert Green, Grandson Randy Green-  Brothers William (Bonnie) and Harold (Helen).  She is survived by her children Debi Slowik (Jim), Randy Green (Vicki) and Tina Wheatley (Rob),
Grand kids-Trina, Autumn, Ashley (Mark) and Zachary along with 11 Great grandchildren, 6 Great Great grandchildren with many dear friends who loved her deeply.

Betty's legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, the smiles she inspired, and the love she gave so freely. Those who knew her will forever carry her voice, her laugh, and her unforgettable spark in their hearts.
