Betty Jane Kral

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Betty Jane Kral. Betty passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born May 19, 1935, to Frank and Helen Maytas, Betty was the loving mother of Sherri, Glen (Laura), and the late Edward; grandmother of Amanda (Luke), Nicholas, Sarah (Peyton), Brett, the late Jason and the late Eric; great grandmother of Ava, Emma, Greyson, and Cade; mother-in-law of Mary Kral. She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward Kral.

Betty was known for her love of family, her strong independence, and her love of gardening, whether it was flowerpots and statues arranged just so, or growing her favorite vegetables, everything in the yard was always beautiful. Her house was immaculate with nothing out of place. She loved hosting family gatherings and baking her famous chocolate pie. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, sewing and bingo, and kept busy as she got older by watching the cooking channel and her favorite games shows and cannot forget her love of the Detroit Tigers. On a warm day you would find her sitting outside watching the bird in her bird bath.

She was the anchor of our lives, a constant source of unconditional love and a gentle light to everyone who knew her.

Her memory will live on in our hearts and will be missed by all those who knew her.
