It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Banks, 77, of Ecorse Michigan on January 22, 2022, from a long battle with Alzheimer's. Brenda was a feisty, spunky lady that everybody loved. She loved going to the local restaurants in Ecorse and hanging out along the river walk, which she was very proud of, and talking to everyone that she ran into there. In previous years she loved to travel across the United States. When she splurged on herself she could be found having fun in Las Vegas. Brenda lived her entire adult life in Ecorse where she worked as an administrative assistant for Ecorse Schools for over 30 years. After retiring from the school Brenda proudly served on the city council for Ecorse for nearly 20 years. She was extremely grateful to be able to live in and serve the city of Ecorse for as long as she did. Brenda was a bright spark in this world and will be greatly missed. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents George and Carrie (Gibson) Banks, her longtime boyfriend Jack Nipper, and her siblings Elwood, Harrison, and Lois  (Banks) Orr. Visitation for Brenda will be on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at JL Peters Funeral Home on Fort Street in Lincoln Park from 10:00-2:00 with a funeral service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alzheimer's foundation.
