SULLIVAN, Brian Vincent Michael, April 4, 2015, age 77 of Dearborn, MI Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1938, Brian attended school, through high school, in New York, received his bachelor's degree from Mercy College in Detroit, and served in the Army from 1956 through 1959. Although Brian was a recovering alcoholic, he hadn't had a drink in over 40 years. In 1984, he received a Masters degree in counseling from Wayne State University and became an addiction therapist. Known for his outspokenness and directness, he was also recognized and loved for his insight and compassion. Always ready with a quip or a story from his childhood, he was a lively conversationalist and a loyal, thoughtful friend. Brian was a man of many interests and eclectic tastes, which he shared with his life partner of forty-eight years, Robert Curtis. Travel and theater, the natural world, and reading and television were among his interests. And he loved exploring consignment shops in search of unique gifts for his friends and family. Brian was pre-deceased by parents Walter and Marion (O'Conner) Sullivan; his brother, Gregory; and his sister Maureen. He is survived by his partner, Bob Curtis; his brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Sharon (Hewitt) Sullivan; his brother-in-law David Curtis; his sister-in-law, Judith (Carroll) Sullivan; his niece Tracey Sullivan (James) Ralston; his nephew and niece, Gregory and Arryn (Delmonte) Sullivan; grandnephews, Brian Vassalo, Jack Sullivan, and J.R.
