Carol Virginia (Taylor) Hall, 98, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Dearborn, Mich., passed away July 28, 2017. She's preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Hall, her son John and daughter-in-law Peggy Hall and her granddaughter Heather. She's survived by sons Jim (Colleen), Pat (Kathy), Mark (Jody), and daughter Margaret (Tim) Nichols. She's also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Chicago, Carol relocated to Detroit at age 18. She graduated from Providence Hospital as a registered nurse. At the beginning of her career, she was honored to work during World War II at the Naval Station Great Lakes hospital near Chicago and then relocated to Long Beach, Cali. to work at the VA hospital while Benjamin served in the war over seas.
After the war, Carol and Benjamin settled in Dearborn with their growing family and were long-time members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Carol continued her nursing career at Providence Hospital and after 25-years of service she retired and became a volunteer for The American Red Cross. in 1979, Carol and Benjamin then moved to Frankfort, Mich., where they enjoyed living the "up-north" lifestyle -- visiting with friends and family, gardening and sewing. Both Carol and Benjamin were devoted members of St. Ann Catholic Church of Frankfort. Carol continued to fulfill her need to serve by volunteering at the Frankfort Senior Care Home. For the last 20 years she lived near family in Trenton, Mich and then settled in Kalamazoo, Mich for her final years.
Her larger-than-life presence was welcomed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be remembered as a strong,independent, beautiful and kind woman.
