Charles James "Charlie" Shollenberger (June 16, 1934 - May 21, 2026)
Charles Shollenberger has passed to his reward. He was a devoted husband to his wife Betty, and a wonderful father to his children. He was known to friends and co-workers as Charlie, and as Dad / Grandpa to his family.
Charlie attended and graduated from Henry Ford Trade School and was an Automotive Body Designer for Ford Motor Company for 30 plus years. He also worked for different automotive job shops in his early career. He started out as a draftsman on the board and progressed through PDGS and Catia at Ford.
He was active in the Boy Scouts and spent many years with the Dearborn Heights Kiwanis, where he served as president and was Kiwanian of the Year in 1976 . He played baseball in the Ford leagues, and enjoyed bowling and golf. He also was an avid camper, hiker, and animal lover. He was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers.
He has gone to join his parents James & Ann Shollenberger and his wife Betty who pre-deceased him by 5 years. He is survived by his children and their families, Mark (Kim), Julie, Nancy Sawicki (Michael), Scott (Holly) and his granddaughters Rachael Sawicki and Jamie Sawicki.
