KNUTSON, Charles R. of Dearborn, MI, age 87, deceased May 29, 2008 He leaves his wife, Virginia Anderson whom he married in 1946, sons Norman and Ronald, daughter Mary Beth Thomas, and sister Nina Jean Whitney. Also surviving are a niece, two nephews, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Charles was born in Flint, MI the son of Kate and Christian Knutson. He graduated with a MBA from the U of M School of Business in 1943 and then spent 3 years in the Navy, and became a Lt. Commander. He was employed at GMI Kettering Univ. for 34 years, retiring as a Professor of Mgm Accounting. He was past National vice president of Institute of Management Accountants. He was Saginaw Valley past President of Internal Auditors. He received a distinguished Teachers'Award at G.M.I. He was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary Clubs in Fenton, MI, Sun Lakes, AZ, and recently Dearborn. He is a member of the Flint Presbyterian Church, but also attended the Sun Lakes, AZ Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the International Rotary Foundation, Kettering Scholarships, or a charity of your choice. His life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service at the Henry Ford Village Chapel, 15101 Ford Rd., Dearborn, MI on June 21st at 2 pm.
