Cheryl Marie Birr was born in Allen Park, Michigan, on

December 27, 1954, to Theodore and Iris Jean Szuch. Cheryl

was the 4 ^th child of 10 children. She was preceded in death

by 4 siblings: Infant boy Szuch, Christopher, Kurt, and Dawn

(Szuch) Gatesy. Surviving are siblings Mark (Linda), Ted

(Cindy), Kevin (Kathy), Kim (Tim Milner), and Fred.

After Cheryl graduated Allen Park High School, she wore

many different hats during her working career. She was

employed for many years as a nurse's aide, where the

residents loved her and enjoyed her company. She later

worked in the hospitality field servicing several different

restaurants. She then worked customer service in retail

stores, showcasing her caring and outgoing nature.

Cheryl's hobbies and interests included crafting, tending to

her herb garden, and baking. She made pies for multiple

family events, and some of her greatest work includes the

family Thanksgiving when she made 10 pies. Afterwards, she

became known as the pie lady.

Cheryl was excellent with children. She lovingly cared for

more than a dozen children of family members and close

friends.

She married the love of her life Rick on July 25th, 1981, and

recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by

vacationing in Grand Haven. One of Rick's favorite things to

do was go out for seafood with Cheryl.

She will truly by missed.
