Cletis "Pete"
Emmitt Mcduffee
May 4, 1936 – August 29, 2021
McDUFFEE, Cletis Emmitt Age 85 of Lincoln Park, MI
Loving Father of Renee (Mark) Banta and Kellee (Derek) Samp.
Dearest Grandfather of Michael Banta, Collin Samp and all the grandpups.
Pre-deceased by Parents, Robert E. McDuffee & Stella E. McNeese/McDuffee, as well as Step-Mother, Hazel McDuffee and his 3 older brothers; Milton, Hildon and Truman McDuffee.
Pete worked 30 yrs and retired from McLouth Steel in Trenton, MI. (Boiler Operator)
He was born in Fredericktown, MO. May 4, 1936 and came to Michigan in 1954, for work. He Married in 1958 and enlisted into the Navy in 1959.
Aboard ship he sailed from Virginia to New Zeeland to Antarctica and many places in between.
Pete became a dad to Renee in May of 1966 and Kellee in July of 1970.
Over the years he loved many things in life; Michigan Football, Detroit Tigers & Red Wings, Hunting, Fishing, Traveling, Camping, Cooking, Cold Beer, War Movies, Cowboy Movies, John Wayne, Great food (Southern Food mostly), Conversation and Gathering with Family, Friends and Dogs! Pete loved the water (river, lake or ocean - didn't matter) and lighthouses. Guess that's why he was a Navy guy.
He spent over 38 years at Andres Acres/Four Lakes Family Campground.
He made friends in all walks of life right up until the very end. When I walked in on him and his nurse last week, they were cutting up as if they knew each other for years, she was new, they had just met a half hour before.
Pete was Honorable, Ornery, Loving, Genuine and Tough. He used a "No Filter" approach in every day life. He was funny, he'd crack himself up - right went he got a jab in on ya! He worried too much, but that was his way of showing he cared. He gave the most thoughtful, meaningful gifts; whether it was in the traditional sense or the prankster sense. You know, sometimes a prank gift takes more thought and time.
There are no words to describe the tremendous loss of this man. Our hearts are broken and he will be missed something fierce.
