Colin James Johnson of Dearborn, Michigan, aged 17, left this world on Saturday August 15, 2015. Colin was born on September 23, 1997 in Wyandotte Michigan. He was the beloved son of Nicole Marie McPherson and James Edward Johnson, Stepson of Ronald McPherson, Brother of Evan Johnson, Step Brother of Alexandra McPherson, Brittany McPherson, and Damion Minton, Grandson of Harold and Betty Campau, Grandson of James Forest Johnson and Diana Johnson, Grandson of Sam and Shirley Rogers, and Grandson of Phil and Rinsetta Ray. Colin is survived by his loving family, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched and who all loved and adored him. Colin had two main passions in life, music and horses. He was a much loved musician and member of the Dearborn High School Music Program performing on the trombone with the DHS Marching Band, Concert Band, Brass Quintet, and Jazz Band, as well as the Meridian Elementary, Middle, and High School Music Program. He was also an excellent Horseman who took great pride in his skills and loved and cared greatly for the horses he handled. He won numerous Eastern Michigan Arabian Association, Midland County Fair, and 4H event awards for his horsemanship skills. Colin spent his summer working hard and feeling accomplished at Valann Farms where the family horses were kept. He loved to spend time with his Mother at the horse barn caring for and training the family horses and also at horse shows where they competed together. He also loved spending time with his friends and family and was always willing to help anyone at anytime. He was much loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family will receive visitation from friends and loved ones on Saturday August 22nd from 3pm to 6pm at Howe Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, MI 48124. A Memorial service will be held immediately after at 6pm.
