Colleen H. Stieper of Dearborn passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018 at age 101. Colleen was the beloved wife of the late Carl G. Stieper who passed away at home in August of 2001. Adored mother of Kristine Levesque (Larry) and Nelson Stieper (Barbara). Grandmother to Megan Fose (Brian), Lauren Robinson (Tyler), Bradley Stieper (Clare), Michelle Fordell (Dain), and Brett Stieper (Schuyler). Great Grandma ("GG") to Emily, Kailey, Quinn, Christopher, Brayden, Hannah, Melanie, and Charlotte, and Aunt and Great Aunt to many. Colleen was an active community volunteer and a great, trusted, thoughtful and caring friend. Colleen was born December 15, 1916, in Butler, PA, and moved to Detroit when she was 13. She was a proud graduate of Western High School. She lived most of her life (63 years) with wonderful neighbors on S. Waverly in Dearborn and lived her final years at Woodhaven Retirement Community in Livonia. An avid reader, Colleen's smile, laughter, and sharp wit made Colleen a magnetic presence. She lived an amazing, wonderful, and fulfilled life, which her family and friends will celebrate in a Memorial Service at the First United Methodist Church in Dearborn (located at 22124 Garrison), at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 19th, 2018. The family will receive friends between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm before the service, and there will be a Life Celebration Dinner after the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Colleen's name to the First United Methodist Church of Dearborn or the Michigan Cancer Society where she volunteered for 30 years.
