Cynthia Grace Severyn-Gren

Cynthia Grace Severyn-Gren, age 74

Passed away on August 6, 2026, at Hampton Manor Assisted Living in Taylor, Michigan.

Born on May 27, 1952 in Detroit, Cynthia dedicated much of her professional life to the University of Michigan Hospital, where she was a Financial Senior Manager. She also shared her knowledge by teaching classes in medical coding.

Cynthia was a graduate of St. Lawrence Elementary and Cass Technical High School, later earning a degree from Wayne State University.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gregory Gren, her father, Emil Severyn Sr., her mother, Rose (Dajos) Severyn, and her sister, Anne Severyn. Cynthia is survived by her brother, Emil Severyn, Jr., his wife Mary Ann (Dolega) Severyn, and their daughters, Hilary and Emily, who will miss her deeply.

An avid flower gardener, Cynthia found joy and tranquility in the beauty of nature. She loved animals, having cherished many dogs and cats throughout her life, each of whom brought her joy and companionship.

Friends and family are invited to come remember Cynthia at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home in Taylor on Tuesday August 11th, from 10:30-12:00 followed at 1:00 pm by a short service and interment in the mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
