Daisy
Scott
October 12, 1930 – February 16, 2020
Daisy Scott passed away peacefully at home February 16, 2020, after a long struggle with dementia. She is survived by her admiring and devoted husband Joseph, loving children Douglas (Carole), Gregory (Teresa) and Helayne (Leigh); dearest granddaughter Kaley; brother Anthony; many nieces and nephews; and her compassionate and devoted caregivers – Christina Lynn, Debbie, Rosetta, Shannon & Alyssa. She was predeceased by her dearest grandson Nicholas and her sister Elsie.
Daisy was born in Detroit October 12, 1930 shortly after her parents and sister emigrated from Greece. While Joe was at Selfridge ABF they met at a USO dance and in 1953 began a marriage that would last 67 years. They spent a couple years in Florida as Joe finished his hitch in the Air Force but moved back to the Detroit area, eventually setting up their household in Taylor. Daisy was a consummate homemaker and skilled tax accountant. She was proud of achieving IRS enrolled agent status, and continued to work as a tax preparer until she was 80! Above all she was an exemplary wife and mother. She was generous and compassionate to a fault. Her quick and keen wit, razor sharp intellect and mischievous smile kept us all on our toes. Her most endearing trait however was the world's sweetest disposition, evident to everyone that met her; not even dementia could extinguish that. There will be a party to celebrate Daisy's life at some future date.
