RUFF, Daniel H. Jr. October 19, 1926-August 26, 2014, age 87 Dan grew up in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 7th Army Infantry Division serving in Okinawa, Japan. After the war he stayed enlisted and went to Seoul, Korea to perform for the U.S.O. entertaining the troops with his many musical and comedic talents. After being discharged with honors from the Army, Dan was hired by Ford Motor Co. and became a Supervisor of Material Controls. While working at Ford's he met the Love of his Life, Betty. They were married in January of 1979 and from that day on they were inseparable. They traveled the world together and had a beautiful relationship. Dan leaves behind his beloved wife, Betty; his daughter Karen (Jim) Navyac; his sons Jack (Susan) Mihalko and Matt Ruff; Grandchildren: Susan (Paul) Stempien, Lisa (Jason) Towe, Lisa (Joe) Hinsperger, Kara (Eric) Stemmer, Jason (Carrie) Mihalko, Marcus (Julie) Geiger, Jenna (Chad) Harter. Great grandchildren: Jacob, Josh, Carly, Hayley, Tessa, Roger, Paul, Ashley, Ella, Kate, Griffin, Makaela and Sophia. Preceded in death by his mother Maggie, his father Daniel Ruff Sr. and his son Michael. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dan's life will be held at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. on Saturday, September 6th from 11:00-2:00 pm with Memorial Service at 1:00 pm.
