April 27, 2021 our family lost an incredible father, papa, brother, father-in-law, uncle, neighbor, and uniquely - an expert baker.

David Eveslage was a New Year's Day baby born on January 1, 1943. David primarily grew up in Dearborn, attending Edsel Ford HS. He was drafted into the Army in 1964 and served a tour in Korea.

After serving in the United States Army, David worked 30 years for and retired from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. He also learned the painting business from his dad and became an expert painter himself - a business he conducted while working for Ford.

Dave spent much of his retirement perfecting his delicious cheesecake recipes, caring deeply for his eight grandchildren, closely watching the stock and golf channels, and feeding peanuts to his furry friends - the squirrels.

Dave loved his family, first and foremost, and would do anything to help when he could. He and his late wife Jean were always generous with guests and neighbors, and loved gatherings at their lake house in Coldwater.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Marie; his beloved wife, Jean; and two older sisters, Janet and Carol.

He is survived by his two sons, Tony (Andi) and Brian (Mindy); brother, Dean; and eight precious grandkids, Justin, Morgan, Halayna, Penelope, Talon, Lilah, Raina, and Cannon.

A memorial gathering will be held on June 26,2021 from 12-3pm with a memorial service at 2pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home Dearborn Chapel 22546 Michigan Ave. Dearborn, MI 48124.
