Obituary

David Mansfield suddenly and sadly left us on July 28, 2024.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Cindy, and cherished son Nick (Kate), parents Robert and the late Diana, siblings, Kim (Mike) Karen (Pete) and Tina (J.B.)

David was born November 3, 1957, in Norfolk Virginia. Growing up in Reno, Nevada and in Oregon living with his aunt, Sister Adele and many other Benedictine nuns.  It took more than a village to raise a kid like David.

From there, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he met and married Cindy over 44 years ago.

We are blessed and proud to know how many lives Dave touched, whether it be through laughter, his generosity, and just a simple love for a good time being with the family and friends he loved so much. He'd be there with a big shoulder if you needed him, and he'd give you the shirt off his back if he could (and he did).

David will be buried with Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. (For the immediate family.)

The family will be having a celebration of life gathering at Park Place banquet facility in Dearborn, 23400 Park St, Dearborn, MI 48124 at a later date in August, information will follow.

Family has already had private farewell.

Dave has been entrusted into the care of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Services, 22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Mi. 48124, 313-561-1500.

Instead of flowers family has requested donations to go to the Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation, P.O. Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727
or E-mail to development@firehero.org
