David Allen Tucker (Dave) passed away on April 2, 2022 at the age of 81.

Beloved husband of Rosemary for 61 wonderful years. Loving father of David Robert (Patricia McLean), Sean Howard (Charlotte) and the late Mark Allen. Dear grandfather of Nick (Kelly), Ben (Danielle), John, Rachael (Claire) and Riley. Proud great grandfather of Liana.

Dave Tucker, Fong, Dad, Grandpa Dave, Uncle, Brother, Friend. Not only did he go by many names, but he also came up with a new nickname for everyone he loved. His personality was as big as the stage he performed on in his years of Community Theatre. He loved anything and everything Broadway and could belt out a show-tune on the spot if you asked him, not to mention his excellent rendition of Unchained Melody. He never met a soul he couldn't strike up a conversation with, be it a 9-year-old little girl he met when he was 11 and would one day marry, a restaurant server, someone on a plane, or a cruise ship, or next to him waiting for a show to start. Although distance kept him from seeing his family for part of the year, he was fiercely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to share stories and pictures with anyone who would listen.

He served in the U.S Navy from 1959-1962, sailing on the S.S. Ticonderoga. During this time and through their long-distance correspondence, Dave and that 9-year-old he met when he was 11, Rosemary, fell deeply in love. Before his deployment on the Ticonderoga, the two married and started a family, building a beautiful life together. Dave got a job with the Detroit News where he worked in add sales. He dedicated 30 years before his retirement from what was then, the Detroit News and Free Press.

Dave loved music and spent a lot of time in the Rackham Choir with the Detroit Symphony amongst other choirs, but his heart, as previously mentioned, was in the theater. He, Rosemary and their sons were all involved in the community theater where Dave put his heart and soul into every aspect.

Alzheimer's may have taken him away from us, but these are the memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
