David Roy Whitehouse of Dearborn, Michigan, age 80, passed away at home on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Husband to beloved wife Joanne of 58 years. David was born in Detroit on June 28, 1940 to Harvey and Eunice Whitehouse. David graduated from Redford High School in 1958 and then continued his education at Lawrence Tech in Southfield, MI. After graduation, he served in the Air Force Reserves from 1962 to 1968. David married the love of his life, Joanne, on April 13, 1963.

David was a strong entrepreneurial business owner within the Dearborn community. The Whitehouse family owned and operated Whitehouse Products, which was known as a landmark in Dearborn since the early 1960s for the giant Presto Whip cans on Telegraph Road just south of Michigan Avenue. David was constantly active. If he wasn't running a business, real estate, or security investing, he was constantly working on projects. He always had a new list of projects to work on when the last one was completed. He enjoyed traveling and spending the summer days boating and water skiing at the property on Lake Shannon. It's hard to count how many kids he taught to water ski. He always made his wife and family his first priority and was always involved with the many activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grandson.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, his son Curtis (Kris) and daughter Renee (Tim), as well as 4 grandchildren, Whitney, Michael, Austin, and Mitchell, and his great-grandson, Carter. He is also survived by his brother, Doug (Kathie), his nieces, Mary Ellen and Samantha, and his nephew, Billy. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Delores, and nephew, George.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 1-2pm for family, and from 2-5pm for friends. Only 25 guests can be in the building at one time. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, May 24, 2021. However, due to Covid restrictions we are limited to just close family and friends for the service.
