David R. York passed on February 9, 2025 at the age of 87. He was the son of Theodore and Mailas (Rutanen) York.
After graduating from Lincoln Park High School, he went on to serve in the Coast Guard.
In 1960, he joined the Lincoln Park Fire Department. He retired as a Captain after 25 years of dedicated service.
On his days off, he began working in car sales at Aubin's Service in Brownstown, eventually buying the business. He later moved Aubin's to Carleton and created Midwest Fleet and Southeast Michigan Auto Auction. He also dabbled in a car wash, orange grove and boat sales.
He was an avid boater for most of his life and loved to shop for bargains.
He is survived by three daughters Susan, Constance and Toni, grandchildren Bridget, Aleisha, Timothy and Mackayla, three great-grandchildren Silas, Fallon and Winston, and longtime companion Mary Servey.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00-6:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, and the Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm. All services will be located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3880 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, MI 48146.
