Dawn Marie Krolikowski, of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to James Wells Ballou and Hazel Ballou, née Hoover.  Dawn grew up in Detroit where she attended Goodale Elementary School and graduated from Denby High School.

On July 4, 1953, Dawn married the love of her life, Arthur Edward Krolikowski. Together they moved to St. Clair Shores that same year.  They raised three children together and have eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Sadly, Arthur passed away on April 5, 2016 – they had been married for 62 wonderful years.

Dawn was a lifelong, dedicated and active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist Grosse Pointe Farms.  She worked in a variety of capacities at the church.

For 50+ years she was a crossing guard in the Lakeview School system in St. Clair Shores.

She loved to bowl, knit, crochet, and paint.   She won many "Best of Show" awards at the Michigan State Fair for her artistic ability. She was also an avid Tigers fan.

Dawn leaves behind her children: James W. Krolikowski (Shawn), Richard E. Krolikowski, and Janet M. Andersen (James); her grandchildren:  Steven Andersen (Amanda), Thomas Andersen (Ashley), Kiersten Marston (Andersen - married to Christopher), Jessica Krolikowski, Christopher Krolikowski, Ryan Krolikowski, Jenna Andersen, and Emily Krolikowski; her great grandchildren:  Thomas, Griffin, Brody, Annabelle, Caden, Ryder, Landon, and Sage; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur E. Krolikowski; parents: James and Hazel Ballou; and her dear sister, Mary Leigh Furno.

Private cremation services entrusted to the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.
