It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jim Downing on July 15th, 2024.

Loving husband to wife Janice of 57 years.

Dearest father to daughters Kris (Jeff) Parker, Amy (Brandon) Ketterman. Proud papa to Josh (Kaitlyn) Ashley (Anthony), Amanda (Dan), Katelyn (Justin), Colton and Christian. Proud "G" Papa to Lucas, Andie, AJ, Aiden, Lainey, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, John and mother, Lena, his siblings Maxine, Ernest "Bud" (Marcella), Phyllis (Mel), Jane (Chick), John "Bubbers", Ruth Ann (Tom), and Sharon (Hank).

Jim was an avid fisherman, he loved the outdoors; gardening, camping, his motto was "The bigger the better" especially when it came to bonfires. He loved T.V., especially watching western movies. He was a Christian man who read his Bibles and loved Jesus. He will be deeply missed; we will cherish the wonderful memories we have made through the years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 25th from 3:00pm-8:00 pm, with a celebration of life held at 7:00 pm, at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, MI, 48124 (313-561-1500)

Burial will be held on Friday July 26th, 2024, at 9:30 am, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442
