Obituary

Dennis Louis Nagy of Trenton Mi., passed away on May 21st, 2024, at the age of 84, joining his late wife Alice who passed away on March 4, 2024.

Dennis was the only child of Louis Nagy and Helen Blum, growing up in Detroit, graduating from Denby High School, Detroit MI in 1957.

Loving Father of Delena (George) Fradl. Cherished grandfather of Kyle Krueger (Fiancé Heather James), Kelli Krueger (Mark) Manning and Kayla Laney.

After high school Dennis joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska from 1963-1965.

Dennis loved to play tennis, golf, bike riding, collecting and listening to music, he was an avid garage / estate sale enthusiast. He was also known to brew beer, spirits and make wine.

His proudest moment in life was when Delena was born.

Dennis worked at the Detroit Police Department for 25 years as a Communications Officer from 1961-1986, then he worked for the DEA for 11 more years from 1991-2003 as a mail and file clerk.

Dennis was a member of MENSA and the Detroit Theatre Organ Society.  He received a silver medal at the Downriver Senior Olympics in 2007.

One of Dennis's achievements was in 1958, when he completed a course in the school of announcing and speech.

Dennis donated to many organizations, including Fish and Loaves food pantry, the Lincoln Park Historical Museum, Allen Park Animal Shelter, Detroit Public Schools, The Salvation Army, University of Michigan, Consumer Reports, and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, to name a few.

Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024, 12:00 - 5:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Taylor Chapel, located at 9800 Telegraph Road, 48180, 313-291-0900.
