Obituary

Devin William Fulton of Canton, MI, passed away on April 11, 2024 at the age of 45. Beloved husband of Nicole Fulton. Loving father of Lucas, Addison, and Emersyn Fulton. Cherished son of Alan and Mary Fran Fulton. Dearest brother of Michael (Leah) Fulton, Katie (Aaron) Hansen, and Mollie Fulton.

Devin has always had a strong sense of family. Starting from when he was very young, his parents fostered children in need, cared for pregnant teenagers, and took in a refugee family from Vietnam. Devin went from being a foster parent himself, to adopting his three beautiful children. He loved being a father so much. He even served on the PTO and family advisory team at the children's school.

Devin had a love for woodworking, he started his own business, Devin's Designs, where he makes bowls, knives, pens, cutting boards, darts, etc. He also created one-of-a-kind community events. One of the events was a trick or treat event that was sensory and mobility friendly for kids with special needs. Devin had a passion to help people, he donated a lot of his time to cooking for the homeless, volunteering at shelters, and working with organizations to help raise funds.

Devin was also part of MI-LEND (Michigan Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) which is a leadership training program that prepares Michigan's emerging leaders with the goal of improving adolescents who have neurodevelopmental disabilities and other related needs. In his own words, "I am part of this program, I am an educator for the family center and a parent mentor for the state of Michigan DHHS. Part of what I do is educate young professionals that are working in the medical field and I work with doctors and other medical professionals on many aspects of special needs families and children and the legalities of foster care".

Even after his passing, Devin has given an extraordinary gift to others in need. He is a selfless donor through Gift of Life Michigan. His donation will be used for education purposes. Additionally, a neurosurgeon will also be able to use his generous gift for mental health and autism research. Devin's father Alan compared his son to the book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein for his selfless acts throughout his life, and in his recent passing. Devin will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe page to support Nicole and her three young children: https://www.gofundme.com/f/devin-fultons-family-needs-your-support?qid=b49903e539699ff383058a7bfba3acc8
