Dolores Dorothy Mary Retzloff, age 90, of Taylor, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2021.  Born on January 8, 1931 to Howard and Viola (Rupp) Lunwick in Dearborn Township, Michigan. Dolores was raised in the Dearborn area and graduated from Dearborn High School in 1948.

Dolores met and married Stanley U. Nichols after high school and they had two children together. Tragically, Stanley was taken from Dolores and the kids too soon in 1972.  While taking care of her family, she also worked as a bookkeeper at church, which she was very proud of.

It was at church where she met Frederick Retzloff, they were married for 20 wonderful years until he passed in 2019.

Faith was very important to Dolores; she would read the Bible every year and there was always a stack of Daily Bible Readings on her coffee table that she would read each day. She was a devoted parishioner at Unity Lutheran Church in Southgate and prior to that she belonged to Transfiguration Church in Taylor.

She loved gardening and had many different flowers in her yard. She continued gardening until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

Beloved mother and stepmother of Sharleen (Ralph) Wisler, Michael (Kathie) Nichols, Fred, Judy (Bob), and Sherry (the late Jim).

Loving grandmother and step grandmother of Aaron (Jaime) Mykeloff, Melissa (Edward) Krzysik, Kevin (Kim) Nichols, David Nichols, Jessica (Josh) Kientop, Ben, Holly, Anne, Jon, Bradley, and Laura.

Dear great grandmother of Nathan Krzysik, Abby Krzysik, Noah Mykeloff, Benjamin Mykeloff, Anna Rose Mykeloff, and many step great grandchildren.

Dolores will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place from 1:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
