Donald W. Dolan passed away on December 26, 2023 at the age of 75.
Donald Wayne Dolan was born in Anne Arundel MD on November 18, 1948. His father was stationed there with the Army at the time of his birth. They moved to Detroit, MI, but eventually settled into Southgate, MI where Don went to school and graduated from Southgate Anderson. After graduation, he went into the Army and served his 4 years during the Vietnam era. When he returned home, he went to work at Ford and then at Chrysler. He finally settled with Michigan Foundation driving a cement truck which he retired from. In 1984, he married his wife, Brenda (nee Haines) Dolan. They celebrated 39 years of marriage and were loving companions for 42 years. He helped raise and take care of Brenda's Children; Shane Kelly and Amy Olson. He enjoyed playing many sports through out his life, basketball in high school, and his adult years he played baseball, bowling, and golf. His other great pastime was sitting in his man cave in his lazyboy chair watching many many hours of sports.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; Donald and Myra, also his brother John, and sister Nancy. He is survived by his Wife, Brenda and Shane (Debbie) Kelly and Amy (Brian) Olson. His grandson's; Padraig Kelly, Thomas Kelly, and Christopher Olson. His nephews; Tim (Lisa) Bain, Corey (Michelle) Dolan. Also great nieces and nephew; Payton and Rylan Dolan, also McKenzie and Zach Bain.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 3:00-7:00pm located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home 9800 Telegraph Rd. Taylor, MI 48180. Donald will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:30pm.
