Donald Frederick Geberdt passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017 at the age of 81.

Devoted husband of Nancy who proceeded him in death in 2015.

Loving father of Jennifer (Billy). Grandfather of Nora (Bradley), Troy, and in more recent years Billy (Alyssa/Grayson).

Proceeded in death by his brother Jerome Geberdt. Brother-in-law to Helen Geberdt. Uncle to Patti (Larry) Hossie, Joan (Rick) Sutton, Ann (Larry) Geberdt. Cousin to Hugh (Dianna) Weltz, Glen (Pat) Hahn, Jean Schaaf, along with many other family members, all of Ontario, Canada.

Brother-in-law to Thomas (Joanne) Mann, Daniel (Judy) Mann, Ellen (Patrick) Kelley. And James Mann, who also proceeded him in death. Uncle and cousin to many other family members in the U.S.

Donald (Who was born and raised in Ontario, Canada) came to Michigan on a work visa as a Tool and Die Maker. He met and married the love of his life, began a family, and later became a U.S. citizen. He is lovingly remembered for being a steadfast rock in the lives of his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. His lifelong work ethic, the time he took to help family and friends, and his passion for helping our world through recycling, composting, gardening and utilizing solar energy also show the kind of man he was. His energy, mechanical abilities, thirst for knowledge, and old world values were respected by all. Though he missed his wife of 49 years dearly over the last couple of years, he kept himself busy with his family, friends and projects up to his last day here with us. His smile and wisdom will be forever missed.

There will not be viewing services. Alternatively, there will be a memorial pot-luck luncheon in his honor for family and friends at,

In lieu of flowers, bringing a favorite dish to pass would be appreciated by his family, or donations could be made in his name to the skin cancer foundation.
