Donald Richard Jones of Taylor, Michigan passed away on February 13, 2023 at the age of 91. Richard was the loving husband of Anna Rhea (Holt) Jones for over 68 years. Loving father of Rhonda Gatscher, Laura Parks and Julie (Jerry) Welsch. Cherished Papa of Dionne (Brad) Dracka, Dawn (Jeremy) Rospierski, Savanna Parks, Jeremy Welsch, Jordyn Welsch, Rebecka Parks and Jillian Welsch; and, great-grandfather of Jace and Hudson Rospierski. Much loved brother survived by Juanita Pridemore, Beulah Potter, Phyllis Withrow, Ruth Zorn, Janet (Rick) Fields and Larry (Linda) Jones.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years. He had a strong work ethic and taught his children and others by his example. He was always tinkering, and could build and fix just about anything. Richard loved watching his Detroit hometown teams – the Tigers, Red Wings and Lions. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, bowling, going to the casino, gardening and playing cards. But most of all he was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. Richard will be so deeply missed by his family and friends.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, February 16 at Howe Peterson Funeral Home in Taylor.  A celebration of life for family and friends will be held during the summer of 2023.
