Dunn, Donna M. Dec. 19, 2012 Age 83. Dear mother to three daughters Colleen, Cathleen, and Laureen, and a son, the late Christopher. Also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Donna passed on at the Four Chaplins Nursing Center where she had resided for three years. Donna has always been a central, much loved person in her own family and her sister's family. Donna was a respected neighbor in the Dearborn community where she and her husband, John, have lived for 53 years. When her children were young, she began taking one class per semester at Dearborn's Henry Ford Community College. When the children had finished their public schooling, she went to Eastern Michigan University to finish the last two years of her Bachelor's Degree in Library Science. She began teaching in grade school and junior high school libraries and soon was one of the teachers chosen to introduce the new media center system into the Dearborn Public Schools. While teaching, she took night school classes at EMU in order to secure a master's Degree. While at Eastern Michigan University, she was chosen, with others, to attend an eight week study program in India. Later, the results of this education were presented to other teachers and the public at large in a gathering at Donna's Media Center. Other travel has been extensive. In all, Donna has visited 45 countries. Funeral Service 10:00 am Sunday from the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Visitation will be Saturday 2-9 pm.
