Doris Mae Bauer was born on October 11, 1931 in Hillman, Michigan, and passed away on October 20, 2015 at her home. Daughter of Arthur and Florence (Morrison) Amlotte, loving wife of Ernest, mother of Roger, Terry (Plonka), Bradley. Grandmother of Laura, Layla, Jaime, Joey, Leah and Jeremy. Great grandmother of Samantha and Anthony. Sister of Dorothy Miller (deceased), Donna Caswell, Delynne Ledbetter. Doris attended school in Hillman and, after high school, received a teaching certificate from County Normal. She taught school for a year before she married Ernie in 1951. Doris and Ernie moved to Dearborn Heights that same year, where they have resided for 64 years. She and her husband are long standing members of Hope Lutheran Church in Dearborn. Doris fulfilled her dream to have a family and dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was when she was surrounded by family. She loved and was loved. She maintained courage and perseverance, despite her life long struggle with arthritis. Her last moments transpired in the loving arms of her husband and life-long love. She leaves an extraordinary legacy to everyone whose life she touched. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 9:00 P.M.
