Doris Jean Byars, the daughter of Bedia & Edith Killion, died at age 65, a day after her birthday, on April 24, 2008. She struggled with cancer this year and God answered her prayers and took her home to glory - - Amen. Doris was an active member of Evangel Baptist Church and a volunteer of the women's Pregnancy Care Center. She belonged to a special Bible Study Group on Thursdays and helped out in the church kitchen. Doris is survived by her loving husband Harold, her brother Melvin Killion and her three sons, Keith, Kevin & Kurt, along with her grandchildren Kate, Brooke, John, Sarah, Maigan, Brad, and her great grandchild Blake Waldron. Also survived by a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00pm-9:00pm at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph Road. In state Monday, 9:00am with Funeral Service at 10:00am, at Evangel Baptist Church corner of Pennsylvania & Telegraph. A special luncheon will be served at 1:00pm for all family, friends and church people at Crystal Park Banquet Center. Interment at Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock.
