Liske, Doris Virginia age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2014, at The Presbyterian Villages in Westland, Michigan. She was born in Buffalo, New York, on January 15, 1918 to Walter and Margery (Bearss) Gerber. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 32 years Gerry Leaman, her sisters, Adele (Russ) Francis, Eddie (Ivan) Bevan, her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Dave Phillips, and her step-daughter Linda Liske. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Basil Liske, her daughter Judy (John) Leaman, her sons Terry (Carol) and David (Debbie) Leaman, her step-son Dennis (Barbara) Liske, her step-daughter Lisa (Doug) Liske, and her sister Beulah Spaeth. In addition, she is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Molly (Paul) Kirschling, Nathan (Alice) Leaman, Kelly (Steve) O'Hara, Scott (Laura) Phillips, Christa (Aaron) Peoples, Carrie Phillips, Jeff Schmalenberg, Leslie Leaman and step-grandchildren Angela (Chad) Edgar, Amanda (Slade) Ryan, and Becky and Lauren Liske. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren, Jack and Addy Kirschling (Molly), Ty, Bryce, and Nolan Leaman (Nathan), Trevor and Sully O'Hara (Kelly), Ryan Phillips (Scott) and Keegan, Madeline and Lauren Peoples (Christa). Doris was an LPN at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn for many years. At retirement she and Basil wintered in Bradenton, Florida where she enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, bingo, and warm weather. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home at 22546 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan.
