Obituary

Dorothy Nouhan (née Gomolak) passed away January 15, 2025, surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, George (2010), her parents Andrew and Anna Gomolak, and siblings Lucas(Gloria), Andrew Jr.(Marilyn), Normand(Olga) and Helen(Norman). She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and her devoted caretaker, Isabel.

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, Dorothy pursued her dream of becoming a flight attendant, training in Miami with Eastern Airlines in 1956. George attended her graduation and promptly proposed. After her flight career, she transitioned into the world of finance, earning degrees from Henry Ford Community College and the Executive Development Program of Business at Stanford University. Dorothy spent 35 years with USA Federal Credit Union (now Genisys), ultimately becoming President and CEO and receiving numerous accolades, including the CUES Executive of the Year award and induction into the Michigan Credit Union Hall of Fame.

Known for her flair for fashion, Dorothy always stood out in a crowd with her signature blonde hair,  blue eyes, and strong will. A dedicated community leader, she served as past president of Silverliners International, raising millions for charitable causes, including funding prosthetic limbs for children and organizing flights for seriously ill children to meet Santa. She and George attended Saint Kateri church where Dorothy served as an active reader and Eucharistic Minister. Both were also life members of the Dearborn Country Club.

Dorothy's legacy of love, determination, and generosity will live on in the hearts of her many loved ones including her nieces, nephews and dear, close friends. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
