Obituary

DOUGLAS HAIG BAKER

Age 97, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016.  Doug was born and grew up in Detroit, Michigan and remained in Southeast Michigan working at Ford and raising his family.  The son of John and Ellen Baker, he married Shirley Jean Cowley on November 7, 1942.  He is survived by his loving son Doug (LaVonne), two granddaughters Jennifer (Jonathan) and Julie (Jeffrey) and five great-grandchildren, Mason, Callie, Matilda, Ethan and Sadie.  Doug enjoyed life, participating in baseball leagues, volunteer work and especially the company of his friends and loved ones.  He will be forever remembered as a cherished son, brother, and father, as well as, an adored grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. His kindness, joyful personality and love of life are his legacy.  His life also included a long history with the Redford Masonic Lodge 152 as a Lifetime Member.

Visitation Friday: 1-9pm at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Avenue.

Funeral Saturday: Instate 10:00am with a service at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 N. Military, Dearborn.
