SMITH, Duane   Age 73, of Taylor

In loving memory of our father, Duane Smith, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 28, 2023. He was the loving husband of Myra Smith, from Taylor, MI.  He loved telling anyone that would listen, how he was still in love with his blue eyed beauty, of over 53 years.  He was the beloved father of Lisa (Ben) Marasco, and Karen (Scott) Frank and the proud Papa of Destiny, Cameron & Caleb Frank.  He thought his Son-In-Laws Scott & Ben hung the moon. We often noticed they got more attention than we did when they were around, but it was also such a blessing.  He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Our father was loving, he worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He was an overcomer that faced many challenges in life with admirable strength and courage.

Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He often told the grandkids, "Hard work pays off, Work hard now, so you can play later".  "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right!  He was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Any advice he gave us came from a biblical perspective, and that is timeless and priceless.

Daddy, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much, and have peace knowing we will see you again.
