Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Eda "Jean" Turczyn announces her passing on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the age of 76. Jean passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan.

Jean was born on March 1, 1941 in Coventry, England, the daughter of Gladys Dyer (nee Carter) and Ronald Dyer. Jean will be forever remembered by her six loving daughters, Marcia (Phillip), Elisabeth, Cheryl (Richard), Amy, Megan (Bradley), and Nanette (Karl), as well as eleven beloved grandchildren: Andrew (Rachael), Veronica, Trevor, Lauren (Kellen), Elyssa, Justin, Adrianna, Isabella, Emma, Olivia and Carson. Four great-grandchildren will also remember her love: Kayeleigh, Ava, Lorraina and Nathan. Jean is survived by two sisters, Janet Woods (Robert) and Margaret Little.

Originally from Coventry England, Jean moved to Dearborn, Michigan in 1963 with her husband Philip Jones (predeceased) where they began raising their family together. She became a U.S. Citizen in August of 1986. In 1996 Jean was remarried to Thomas Turczyn, who has recently passed.

To all who knew her, she was a caring, gentle and generous soul that made many sacrifices for the happiness and health of her family. She loved helping others and never stopped doing so.

Jean enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and making her own jams to share with friends and family; she was very creative, enjoying drawing and calligraphy—rarely giving a store bought card. She loved to dance and was often the first one on the dance floor!

She also loved to host tea parties with her daughters. She handed down this beautiful English tradition which they cherish along with her memories.

A private viewing will be held for immediate family.

A memorial and celebration of Jean's life will be held:
August 4, 2017 4:30 - 7:30 PM
O'Kelly Banquet Hall
23663 Park Street
Dearborn, Michigan
48124
