Beers, Edward Daniel, Brother Ed, Uncle Ed, better known as Uncle Eddy Spaghetti, passed away on April 21, 2015. Born December 11, 1932; the fifth sibling of six children born to Claude and Lacy Beers. After graduation from Dearborn High School and military service during the Korean War, Ed attended Eastern Michigan University, receiving his Education Certificate. He taught for the Dearborn Heights School District until he retired. Residing in Dearborn for the majority of his life, Ed married Janet DeHaven in 1970 and eventually moved to the Lawrence Street home. They both retired and enjoyed their cabin, pontoon boat, snowmobiling, the lakes and trails in Mecosta, MI. They were extensive travelers in the USA and abroad but loved the state of Colorado and the Wild West the best, frequenting the cowboy saloons. His interests were his yard and gardening, growing the best tomatoes; photography, his photos of his travels were spectacular; and of coursejig saw puzzles for which he was well known. He also loved all of his dogs that he had throughout his life and was especially fond of his last dog, Bud. Ed was a simple, gentle man with a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet, brothers John, Bill and James. He is survived by sister Barb (Mike), brother Richard, several in laws, numerous nieces and nephews, extended families and some very good, longtime friends. Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Dearborn on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Visitation will be at 11am followed by the Celebration of Life at noon. Luncheon to follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Ed's honor to the Michigan Humane Society or the First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn. www.howepeterson.com
